Magnets without critical materials?
How can we make magnets without rare earth elements? These metals, which are mainly mined in China, are as high-performance as they are polluting, and we are working within a consortium of five laboratories to develop an iron-based alternative, even though this material is a real headache for chemists!
As part of the Pint of Science festival, an evening event open to the general public was held at the Evasion Bar. It was a unique opportunity to discuss science in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
