Hans Tornatzky

Équipe 3. Optoélectronique Quantique , Post-doctorant

Hans Tornatzky received his B.Sc. from the TU Berlin (group of C. Thomsen) in 2012 followed by a M.Sc. in 2013 while being a guest researcher at the University of Cambridge (group of J. Robertson). During his stay he evaluated bi-metallic catalysts for the growth of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes in CVD. In his doctorate back at TU Berlin (group of J. Maultzsch) he engaged research on colloidal nano-particles as well as on phonons and excitons in transition metal dichalcogenides. In parallel to his research he was employed as a teaching assistant, was part of the physics examinations board (2015-17) and organized the IWEPNM conference (2014-2019). He successfully defended his PhD in June 2019.

Currently he is a post-doctoral researcher in the Équipe Optoelectronique at the LPCNO working on the magneto-optic properties of structures involving magnetic layered materials.
